We were so fortunate to be able to spend time with the Brock's last night and to get to meet their sweet little girl, Avonlea.  Reagan and Avonlea are only a couple months apart and they played great together.  They shared lots of hugs but we were not fast enough with the camera to be able to catch it!

The guys.  Dennis happened to be doing some work in the Atlanta area and was able to come over to visit with Chris and Donnette too. We had a great time visiting with them and Sam cooked us an amazing dinner.  Yum!

Cowgirl Hannah

Hannah is loving preschool this year!  Yesterday was Western day and they had a mobile petting farm come to school.  Hannah was pretty excited to get to wear her hat and boots to school!
Years ago I never would have thought I would be saying this but....I got a minivan last weekend!  I am pretty excited about it even thought I know it's not really that cool, but it is SO much better than the VW Jetta for the kids.  It is so much easier getting them in and out and we have space now!  It is a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and it is silver.  Love my new Mommy-mobile!

S'mores!

With the weather cooling off the last couple of weeks it is really starting to feel like fall.  Time for some backyard fires and S'mores!  We even got Hannah to eat her first hot dog EVER!  What kid doesn't like hot dogs?  She would only eat it because she cooked it herself over the fire and that still took a lot of coaxing.  But she loved it after she tried it!  Next we moved onto S'mores!  They both of course loved those too!

They were both so messy afterwards and went straight up to the tub, but they had a good time and enjoyed every bite!

Our Latest Projects

Since Sam is still working on our fence that is almost finished, I have been working inside on a few projects.  The fence was so expensive that I have been trying to find projects to work on that are free/cheap.  We chose to redo a few furniture items we already had to save money instead of just buying new ones.  This dresser was left by the previous owners and has some great storage inside, but it is definitely not our style.  I painted it black this week and updated the hardware and now we have a great new TV stand down in the basement!
Here is the after picture, all pretty and black!
We also worked on the hallway leading down to the basement.  I took the handrail off and painted it and fixed up the hardware for it.  The handrail was white with lots of scratches and chipping and now it is black.  We also removed the popcorn texture from the ceiling and painted that a nice clean white and then also painted the walls a darker gray.
Here is the after picture with all the hallway pictures hung back up!
We also painted a huge bookshelf in the basement that holds all the kids toys.  That was also left by the previous owners and was sort of a light wood color.  The new fence should be finished pretty soon.  It looks great.  Once that is done I can get Sam's help on inside projects again!

Reagan's First Day of Preschool

Reagan was on the waiting list for preschool and they found a spot for her starting today!  She is going to the same school as her sister, just only on Mondays and Wednesday mornings.  She did so great today.  All the little toddlers were crying at drop of time and I left Reagan with a big smile on her face. I think she was excited to get to go to the big school with her sissy!
Here she is in her classroom at drop off time.  Her teacher is Ms. Laura and Ms. Peggy.  Hannah had Ms. Peggy last year and loved her!

Reagan's 18 month stats

Reagan went last week for her 18 month checkup.  She is still so tiny but otherwise meeting all her milestones and is becoming such a sweet, funny girl.  We love seeing her personality developing more and more every day.  Here is how she measured up:
Weight: 19 pounds
Length: 29 inches
Both of these are still way below the 5th percentile on the growth curve.  So since pumping her with calories and feeding her all the time has not really helped her gain, we are now being referred on to a GI specialist to see what they have to say!

This is Reagan's "Cheese!" face.  She loves having her picture taken and says "cheese" every time we take her picture!

Having fun finger painting!

First Day of 3-year-old Preschool!

Yesterday was Hannah's first day back at preschool.  She was so excited!  I took about 10 pictures of her on her first day and this was the best one....she was jumping all around and making crazy faces because she was so excited to go in!   She is going to St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Preschool just like last year and going the same 3 days a week.  She has 11 kids in her class and one of her friends, Abby, is in with her.  Sadly, none of her friends from last year are in the same class with her.  We are trying to get Reagan in the toddler class too on Monday and Wednesday mornings, but right now they are full and she is on a waiting list, so we will see what happens with that!

Here is Hannah with one of her teachers, Miss. Tina.  Her other teacher is Miss Dimpy.  Hoping she has another great year of preschool!
