Two Weeks Old Already!

I can't believe that yesterday Reagan was two weeks old! It is going so fast! I survived my first week alone with the two girls and overall it went pretty well. Friday was really rough because the stomach bug that we had all been passing around finally got to me and I felt awful all day. Luckily it only lasted about 24 hours and I was feeling fine over the weekend. It was so nice to get to spend the weekend together as a family and I am so looking forward to the rest of my weekends off during maternity leave. I am so not going to want to go back to work!

It has become clear with another little person in the house how badly we need an extra bedroom. Our house is still for sale and we have still been showing it a ton but no offers yet....hopefully soon it will sell so we can get a bigger place!

Here are some new pictures...when Hannah was this little I took pictures every day but now with two of them I have not been nearly as good about taking pictures.
Hannah loves her little sister Reagan!
We got them Big Sis and Baby Sis shirts made with their names on them, but they were not so cooperative when we tried to take their pictures together.

Hannah finally agreed to sit next to Reagan and we snapped a few shots...they are going to be best friends!

Mommy of Two

Well today was my first day taking care of both girls all by myself. It went very well. They did not gang up on me too much. Sam's parents left this morning after being here for about a week and a half. It was so helpful and I am so grateful that they were able to come be with us during Reagan's birth and to help out afterward. Thanks again guys!

Hannah seems to be transitioning well. She definitely gets jealous at times like when I am feeding Reagan and can't hold Hannah at the same time, but she has been trying to give her her pacifier when she is crying and gives her kisses all the time. I think Hannah is starting to realize that Reagan is here to stay and she is going to have to share mommy and daddy with her.

Hannah had a stomach bug for the first time a couple days ago. She was just pitiful and all the throwing up made her really miserable. This was a true test of our parenting skills with taking care of Hannah being sick and a newborn baby. Sam even took one for the team and caught a handful of vomit from Hannah to avoid it getting on the couch!

Reagan has been a pretty easy baby so far. She has been sleeping well during the night and waking up every 3 hours or so, but then going right back to sleep after her feedings. Breastfeeding is so much easier this time around! We have had Reagan in cloth diapers already and they swallow her up but they are so cute!
Here is our new family of four right when we got home from the hospital. It was snowing that day! You can't see Reagan but she is snuggled up in the carrier.

Happy Birthday Reagan Olivia

We are pleased to announce that we finally have our new addition to the family. Reagan Olivia Sampson was born today February 28, 2010 on 5:13 pm. She weighed in at 7lbs. 13.8 oz. and is 17.5 inches long.

We started the last day as a family of 3 with some Dunkin Donuts and coffee. It was a beautiful Sunday in Atlanta. The perfect day for a new baby!

We got settled in at the hospital around 12:30 pm and were ready to get the party started.

Stephanie quickly progressed and little Reagan was here before we knew it. She weighs about one pound more than Hannah did. She's a little chunkster!

Mom and Reagan are healthy and doing fine.

Mom, Dad, and new baby Reagan.

I think I look like my daddy!

Grandma, Papa, and big sister Hannah came to visit us in the hospital.

Hannah was interested in her new sister and was quick to give her a kiss.

She even helped her put her hat on.

Hannah and the Belly

We are pretty sure that Hannah has no idea that she has a little sister coming really soon. When you ask her where her little sister is though, we have taught her to point to Mommy's belly. That is pretty cute. We have been trying to get some cute pictures of her and my enormous belly, but she is so quick when she is kissing on it and resting her head on the belly that is has been hard to capture on film. Here are some pictures of us just playing out in the front yard this weekend.

Our First Trip to the Zoo

We decided to make our last trip as a family of three out to the zoo this weekend! We were also lucky that it was the first weekend in a long time that it was not raining or snowing and was really nice outside. Hannah really liked the zoo. Now that she knows most of the animals, it was fun to show her what they look like in real life. Sam and I went to the zoo a few days before Hannah was born, so we were hoping all that walking around would do the trick again to get this new baby out! We are so ready to meet her! Here are some pictures from the zoo.
By far Hannah's favorite part of the zoo was the petting zoo. It was just sheep and goats, but she loved it. She was not scared of them at all. We thought she was going to try to kiss one of the goats! She was petting them and having a good time!

Here is Hannah with a happy looking goat!

She really liked the monkeys!

She was feeling very independent and was not all that willing to ride in the stroller.

Baby Legs!

I am loving the cloth diapers so much and they are so cute that I just don't even want to cover them up with pants! So, we have added some baby leggings to Hannah's wardrobe! Now she can run around with no pants on, stay warm and I can still see her cute diaper butt!

Snow Day!

It has been snowing now for a few hours and this is the most snow we have gotten here in a long time....Sam even came home early today to play outside with us. Hannah was not a big fan of the snow. She did not mind being out there, but she did not want to touch it. She did like the snowman though. We had a good time playing....might go back out in a little while! Just wanted to share some pictures!

Adventures with Cloth Diapers!

We have decided to make the switch to cloth diapers! It has been quite an adjustment, but it is going well so far. After lots of research and anxiously awaiting for them to arrive, they came about a week and a half ago and Hannah has been wearing them since. I was nervous about putting her to bed at night in them, but no leaks so far! She is just wearing her disposables to preschool, since I did not want them to have to bother with the cloth. The diapers are nothing like the cloth diapers our parents used a long time ago! The diapers are so cool....I never thought I would get so excited about something covering my baby's bum!
Here is Hannah with her bum looking so big and cute in her new diapers. I think she likes all the different colors!
The idea is to save some money on diapers and wipes, but with all the cool diaper stuff out there it is very hard to restrain myself from buying more. We have figured that with just one baby they would pay for themselves in about 6 months, but they will pay for themselves even faster once we have 2 babies. We went with the adjustable one size diapers, so Hannah and the new baby can both wear them. We have a few different brands so we can decide which are our favorites before we buy more. I was even feeling crafty last week and made my own cloth wipes so they can just be thrown in with the diaper laundry. It is definitely a big change, but I figure even though it is a little more work it is better for our babies, the planet and our wallets!
So they are not very big and it was a little bit of a struggle but.....we have pigtails! She is so cute! I have been wanting to put a little ponytail in her hair for a while but it has not been long enough. Finally she has enough hair!
