Mommy and Daddy Outing!
Sam's parents were so kind to come up and visit during the girls fall break from school and let us go on a little trip ALL ALONE! Sam and I went to Charleston for a couple nights and had a fabulous time! We stayed in the historic district right in the middle of all the action in a great hotel, ate wonderful food, took a horse-drawn carriage ride, went shopping and had a ghost tour of a creepy old jail. It was so nice to get away and just do grown-up things, but we sure missed the kiddos and were happy to get back home. Thanks so much to Grandma and Papa!
East Cobber Parade
With the return of school comes the return of Girl Scouts! Hannah is starting her second year as a Daisy and my second year as one of her GS leaders. Our first big outing of the year was marching in the East Cobber Parade, which from what I understanding is to celebrate nothing other than living in East Cobb! The girls and I had a great time even though it was super hot and humid.
First Day of School!
I guess it had to happen. Summer had to come to an end and the girls had to start back to school. I really struggled with this over the summer. My heart felt really tugged on to keep them home as much as I could and I was seriously considering homeschooling them. I considered this for SO many reasons, of course one of them being that I just love being with my kids and hate that they are gone so long at school. In the end though, after doing some practice school over the summer, I realized that at this point in my life with a baby at home I just couldn't do it. We talked about both options with the girls and they really seemed up for either decision. So they ended up going off to school and they are loving it!
Hannah is in first grade and has a sweet first-year teacher, Ms. Coyne. Hannah really likes her and she is so fresh and excited to be teaching this year!
Reagan is in preschool at Eastminster and is going 4 mornings a week. Her teachers are Ms. Catherine and Ms. Debbie. She is loving it as well!
Lost Tooth!
Shortly before 1st grade started up Hannah lost her first tooth! She pulled it out during Sunday School (along with a couple of other kids that did the same). She was pretty excited that her tooth fairy brought her $1.50 and let her keep her tooth!
Chattanooga Trip
This summer we also took a quick day trip to Chattanooga. The kids loves the Children's Museum!
but mostly we went for this delicious sandwich. I think this is my most favorite food ever....
Summertime Wrap Up
Sam and I have always referred to the summer that we met as the "summer of fun," but this past summer ranked right up there! I wasn't pregnant, no newborn babies, Sam was around a whole lot and three fun little kiddos to play with all summer! We really had a good one and here are a few leftover pictures to share!
