Pigtails & Crewcuts

After almost 3 years, Sam and I decided that it was probably about time that Hannah got her first haircut.  I have been putting it off for a while because it just makes her seem like such a big girl, and she is getting big way too fast!  Unfortunately her hair was all different lengths, with it being really long in the back and much shorter in the front, almost giving her a mullet-like appearance.  We can't have that, so today we ventured out to Pigtails & Crewcuts, a super-cute kids haircut place!  She had a great time sitting in the taxi cab and enjoyed watching the movie (Toy Story) on the TV so much that I had a really hard time getting her look at the camera.

She sat very still and did great during the cutting!
What a big girl with mousse in her hair!
She got a lollipop and some bracelets for being so good during the haircut, and then we picked out a new bow for her hair.
I should have taken a before picture of the back, but here is the after.  Just a couple inches off the back!

Wednesday was Hannah's last day of preschool for the year.  I tried to prepare her and let her know that school was going to be over, but I am pretty sure she doesn't get it yet.  She has been asking this week about going to school and where Ms. Jodi is.  We celebrated the end of the school year with a pizza party at school.  All the kids made these cute shirts with all their little handprints on them!
Good bye hugs for Ms. Peggy and Ms. Jodi

After pizza time all the kids headed out to the playground for some water table fun!  Reagan was loving this little car...we might have to get one of these for home.

Last circle time with Ms. Jodi.  I tried real hard to remember the songs she was singing so we could sing them together this summer.  I am pretty excited to have the girls all to myself the whole summer.  We are going to be spending lots of time at the pool and settling into our new place!  It's going to be great!

We are counting down the days (literally!) until we move here.....
We have quite an adventure ahead of us the next week or two as we move into our new home that we plan to be in for a long, long time.  Luckily we will be having some help with the move and the kids from Sam's parents.  We are super excited and will have more pictures to come once we get all settled in!

Feeling the Heat

It's only the beginning of May but I can feel that summer is on the way!  It reached 90 degrees today and it was time to find a way to cool off.  We got a little pool to make the days more bearable until the big pool opens soon!

Love these little kids!  Had a great mother's day with the family.  They are the best!

We celebrated my 28th birthday yesterday with a day full of family fun.  I was woken up by Hannah coming and telling me happy birthday and then crawling into bed with me.  Then I got to go back to sleep while Sam and Hannah made me some breakfast in bed.  After breakfast we loaded into the car and decided to take a trip down to the river.  This was our first time taking the kids there and our first family "hike."  Hannah was a great hiker and Reagan was a great traveler in her jogger.  We explored mini waterfalls, caves, climbed rocks, saw geese, climbed out over the water on rocks and trees and finally took our shoes off and waded in the freezing cold water.  It was a great time!

Here is Hannah and Daddy doing their "jaguar eyes."  It helps you see in the dark.

Snack time on the big rocks
Reagan got to check out the water too.
After we got home and everyone got a much needed nap, we headed to a local art festival held at Hannah's school.  They had some great stuff and some fun stuff for Hannah to do.  We headed home and Sam made me an amazing dinner and Hannah and Sam made a yummy cake for me.  It was a great birthday!
